The Nationwide Stand Your Ground Movement How-to

The Stand Your Ground Movement, Part VI

By John Longenecker

I’ve said that retaking the nation is not as hard as it might seem… But then a good diet isn’t as hard as it seems, either, huh?

I took a call from Deeanne, an Illinois woman last night as a guest on The Rick Adams Show. You can listen to the show on MP3 on my website at www.GoodForTheCountry.com

When I mention how we can retake the nation, I’m saying these three things;

Click 'Read More' to read the entire article.

1. Organize a Stand Your Ground Chapter in your state as part of a nationwide Stand Your Ground Movement.

2. State American values with confidence on the knowledge that values previously characterized as right wing are actually mainstream American, and which need to be re-established.

Remember that it’s not bad etiquette to state the American values position boldly, unabashedly and clearly. I’m sure that’s just what a lot of Americans are looking for in their next movement for justice and sovereignty – namely, integrity and clarity of purpose. One of the best techniques is to KISSSS the issues: keep it simple, straightforward and succinct, sweetheart. The people will hear you, and probably respond in the affirmative.

3. Back the movement with running for office. If you cannot run for office, get elected or appointed to your local assembly district committee for your state legislature, or get onto a committee for nominating candidates for national office. Familiarize yourself with the civics rules and election rules, get on the committee in your area, and draft the persons you want to elect. It’s easier to run for committee than for a single office position.

Item One: An organized PAC such as a nationally recognized Stand Your Ground Movement can work to contact officials with more than the voice of one or two people, of course. An organized, legal and powerful force of thousands to hundreds of thousands to (dare I think it?) millions to bring wants and needs to Washington to clarify what we expect from our officials can get traction and results in parsimony.

Not all officials are brazenly against our values, but are for them. But when they hold hearings, often they hear only the voices of the most aggressive leftist activists. To them – without really hearing from you - they naturally think they’ve heard the issue. Yes, it means the Movement will have to become activist, but the problems won’t be solved unless you get involved.

Item Two: When we speak of American values, we are talking about credibility, bargaining in good faith, adhering to the values of fair play, and of placing country above party. Now it’s important to understand that many of these values have been characterized as offensive, judgmental and passe, but trust, good faith and fair play never go out of style, at least not in this country. It’s one thing to work with colleagues, and another to serve your constituents.

But liberals have demonized those persons and your values to marginalize individuals who believe in integrity and good faith as if they were naive, silly notions. In fact, these are the things we live for most in our sovereignty; reliability, consistency, appreciation.. you get the idea.

We are not naive and we are not harboring silly notions - but we are in authority and it’s time to exercise that authority.

Item Three: As I mentioned, if you want the problems solved, you’ll have to get involved. Find out about local state legislature districts and national office. Run for committees on either or all, for the purpose of identifying and nominating the candidate(s) who share your American values of expecting officials to act in good faith, fair play, with integrity and for re-establishing the values lost over the years to the gain of officials.

Here are items I would start with to re-establish as American on the understanding now that such values are not right wing, but mainstream in terms of fair play, Americanism, justice, good faith, law, household and less official interference.

What do you think?

Flat Tax. The power to tax is the power to abuse. Take away the graduated Income tax and you can still fund the country without the heavy-handedness and intimidation.

Repeal All Gun Laws. Please show me any one of the more than 22,000 gun laws that stops crime. Just one. Criminals don’t obey them, so who does? The law-abiding, of course, which ties the hands of the citizen in a selective enforcement.

Repeal No-fault divorce and interference with fathers’ rights, and re-visit family law and family court with a view toward protecting the family and not the advance of un-American agendae.

Repeal law enforcement immunity
to heavy-handed tactics, mistake and abuses as part of a larger demand that officials be held accountable. While yer at it, cancel the War On Poverty, the War On Crime, and the War On Drugs on the grounds that that is not where Poverty, Crime and Drugs are fought.

Get us out of the United Nations by withdrawing our participation, withdrawing all funding and revoking permission to meet on U.S. soil.

Correct the record and reorganize education content to be much more family oriented and less open-minded to destructive concepts. Current content is objectionable to parents across the political spectrum – so-called right wing values being mainstream, remember? – because in being open-minded, too many publishers have let their brains fall out. The idea is to listen to parents over experts.

Repeal all election rules which silence the People nearing a calendared election. Permit opinion and donations with much more latitude. We’ll get through it better without your oversight and restrictions.

Cancel high-technology surveillance plans to come, namely the Real ID Card and other intrusions which suspicion citizens on the grounds that officials cannot tell the good guys from the bad guys in an era of terrorism. The idea that anti-crime policies ask more and more from us in surrendering our sovereignty little by little is incompatible with liberty at any speed – monthly, annually or over generations – and operates only to the gain of officials - daily.

Hands off the Internet. International interests sense the power of information sharing – including political opinion – and the threat to its planned world unification, including people sharing their opinions. Such interests wish to supervise the content and exchange of such information and wish to use the Internet to draw data for their own use unfettered, unaccountably. Refusing to relinquish U.S. control of the Internet preserves liberty in the United States.

Tort reform and crime reform. Too much ambiguity in the law permits selective enforcement. Too often, one law recognizes a right to self-defense, but a PC rule in another law book punishes it, a tool for abuse, political bullying and intimidation, not to mention outright injustice. These need to be revisited and repealed as being counter to public policy and interest.

Spelling out what’s most important in your state can gain momentum on the name recognition of a nationwide movement to retake the nation through such due process and follow-through.

Such a movement probably wouldn’t first target abortion, for instance, but would target election reform and repeal of restrictive election laws first.

Such a movement probably wouldn’t target the death penalty, but would first target self-defense latitude and repeal gun laws which only criminalize the law-abiding, anyway.

Imagine a nationwide Stand Your Ground Movement with very useful priorities. Fix these, and the rest will take care of itself.

America has been far too trusting in believing that an oath of office translates into official public servants who share American Values and who can work unsupervised. these are the people who wish to supervise us through hi-tech surveillance.

Many do share our values, but they need to hear from you. Not just me, I’m one person, but from many, many of us.

And until they do, they’re hearing only one side (who insists on fairness) and that one-sidedness isn’t good for the country.

John Longenecker’s book, Transfer of Wealth: The Case For Nationwide Concealed Carry is in its Second Edition and it would make a great gift for the non-gun owner. You can purchase his book at Transfer of Wealth. You can also read other articles by John Longenecker here.
