Senator Mike DeWine makes exclusive Top-10 Anti-Gun US Senator List

Human Events Online, the National Conservative Weekly, has two new Top 10 lists. They are the Top 10 anti-gun US Senators and U.S. Congressmen.

Fortunately, none of Ohio congressmen or women made the top 10 list for the US House of Representatives. On the other hand, many Ohioans will not be surprised to learn that Senator Mike DeWine appears on the list of US Senators.

Perhaps the only surprise here, for those familiar with Mike DeWine's anti-gun record, is that Senator DeWine, at number 10, was not higher on the list. Of course there is some pretty tough competition for the most dubious honor.

In listing Mike DeWine, Human Events notes, "Mike DeWine (R.-Ohio) Consistently the only Republican to speak in favor of anti-2nd Amendment legislation on the Senate floor." Senator DeWine was the only Republican to make the list (dare I suggest "Republican In Name Only - RINO"?) This puts DeWine, who is running for re-election this year, in the company of Democrats and some of the most anti-American, anti-self defense and anti-Second Amendment characters that currently call the United States Senate their home.

DeWine will be holding his now famous Greene County home open house, ice-cream and apple pie All-American family ice cream social on June 25, where he traditionally portrays himself as solid mid-America. But if you are one of the many mid-American Ohioan gun owners, you should know that Mike DeWine wants to outlaw your freedom to keep and bear arms.

DeWine consistently casts his votes on the side of the most rabid anti-gun Democrats in the Senate. President George Bush has been in Hamilton County, OH campaigning for DeWine, and will soon be in Powell, Ohio to attend an exclusive high-dollar Republican dinner for DeWine's campaign. DeWine has done nothing to really deserve this support other than sit on the R side of the aisle. He votes on the Democratic side of the aisle, especially where freedoms and gun are concerned.
