2008 Ladies Only Defensive Pistol Clinic

Buckeye Firearms and the Central Ohio Defensive Pistol League have teamed up to offer you a unique opportunity to gain an overview of IDPA as a competitive shooting sport.

"IDPA is shooting sport that uses practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated 'real world' self defense scenarios." Although IDPA competitions have practical, real world applications this is not a tactical or self defense class.

This clinic is designed to give you practical experience with your firearm by shooting IDPA scenarios. We will start the clinic in the classroom to review safety issues, range rules and to give you an overview of IDPA. We will then move to the shooting bays in order to shoot the scenarios that will already be set up.

We welcome your friends who may want to attend to observe and not shoot the scenarios but this is an ladies only shooting event. Guys, you are going to have to sit this one out.

As this is an IDPA Clinic, we are adhering to IDPA rules with regard to equipment. Each lady will need a pistol that will fit into the IDPA box (5” maximum barrel length, open sights, & standard length magazines). All holsters must be strong side hip holsters (if you don’t have a hip holster, you will start each stage a low ready). A magazine carrier/pouch is strongly encouraged and at least 1 spare magazine will be required. Also, as with any shooting event, eye and ear protection is required.
