2019 Fall Youth Shoot a Rousing Success
The 2019 Fall Youth Shoot over the Sept. 7 & 8 weekend is in the books and marks another spectacular success for our youth shooting program.
Sponsored by Buckeye Firearms Foundation, the Spring and Fall Youth Shoots are special 2-day events to offer youth the chance to camp, shoot, and compete in a fun and healthy atmosphere. This year's Fall event was well-attended with 90 youth and adult volunteers, and special help from the BFA Venture Crew.
Here's a short slide show of the event:
For all Foundation Youth Shoots, firearms, ammunition, and targets are provided. Trophies and medals are awarded in each discipline, and youth participants can earn NRA / Winchester Marksmanship Program certificates, shields, and rockers.
Activities include a firearm safety class for all new shooters, archery, .22 rifle, and trap shooting for beginners, and introduction to handgun and skeet activities for more experienced attendees. Participants must be under the age of 18 at the time of the event to qualify as a youth. Participation of youth under 9 years old is evaluated on an individual basis.
At just $5 per participant to help cover a portion of the costs, our Youth Shoots offer a fantastic bargain. It's a chance for parents to spend quality time with their children and make some life-long memories. And it's a great opportunity for youth to learn confidence and responsibility in a safe, supervised environment.
We generally announce the Spring and Fall shoots several months in advance, so keep an eye on our Event Page or subscribe to our newsletter for announcements.
