ALERT: Ohio House Passes HB 86 Shockwave Error Fix
The Ohio House today voted to pass HB 86 with a 76 to 20 vote. This bill is a bipartisan effort to fix a drafting error in HB 228 which passed in late December in the previous legislative session. The bill is now headed to the Senate for consideration.
The House also voted in favor of an emergency clause by 72 to 23 to make the bill effective immediately upon signing by the Governor rather than wait the normal 90 days.
Buckeye Firearms Association would like to thank Rep. Plummer, Chairman Becker, and Speaker Householder for their leadership, and thank all the Representatives who voted for this important legislation.
BFA representatives began working with legislators immediately upon discovery of the Legislative Services Commission's drafting error last December, an error which went undetected by anyone in the flurry of legislative activity during the lame duck session.
Companion legislation (SB 53) was passed by the Senate yesterday.

Buckeye Firearms Association will continue to monitor progress and provide updates as the General Assembly finalizes plans to send a bill to the governor's office for his signature.
