BFA PAC Endorses Julie Palmer-Preston for Mayor of Chillicothe
Buckeye Firearms Association PAC is proud to announce its endorsement of Retired Officer Julie Palmer-Preston for Mayor of Chillicothe.
Julie has been a lifetime community servant and wants to continue her service to the city to which she has dedicated her life. She seeks to improve the morale of Officers, Firefighters and every city employee. And she aims to improve safety and security in a city experiencing high crime rates, drugs, and conditions which make it difficult for a city to thrive.
Former Officer Preston has been a lifelong resident of Chillicothe. Along with her entire family, she attended the Chillicothe City Schools and graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1987. After serving in the Army as a telecommunications operator stationed in South Korea, she returned to Chillicothe in 1994 and became a police officer, retiring from the department in 2020.
In her career as a police officer, she spent 16 years building the DARE Program and improving the safety and security of the schools for students and staff, and created the school safety program.
In 2020 she was hired as a Chillicothe City School School Resource Officer and currently holds her law enforcement commission with the Ross County Sheriff's Department.
In 2021, Julie was elected as a Chillicothe City Councilwoman. She currently is Committee Chair of the Safety and City Services committee and the Transit Committee and serves on the Community Affairs Committee.
In addition, she serves as Vice President of the Child Protection Center Board and sits on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of South Central Ohio. Julie also acquired her Real Estate license in 2021 and serves as the HR Manager for her friend's thriving Amazon Delivery Service Program.
Julie respects the U.S. Constitution and supports Second Amendment rights. She maintains her law enforcement firearm qualification and continues to carry a weapon every day.
Julie’s husband, Major Michael Preston, currently works for the Ross County Sheriff’s Department.
