Bloomberg mouthpiece Michael Coleman calls for "reasonable gun control"; BFA's Ken Hanson responds
WCMH, Columbus' NBC affiliate, recently interviewed Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman regarding his latest call for "reasonable" gun control. Buckeye Firearms Association Legislative Chair Ken Hanson was asked to respond. The heavily edited video (which omits any of Hanson's responses to what Coleman calls "reasonable" gun control) can be seen here:
Mayor Coleman holds the title of Ohio Chairman of Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG). While they can usually find a sympathetic ear with the media, MAIG has little if any grassroots support. That's why they recruit mayors as a clever but deceptive substitute. Instead of having real citizens and voters behind them, they fanatically add the names of mayors to their list, add up the population of the mayors' cities, then claim all those citizens as supporters.
They pay for phone calls to legislators. They beg outside liberal groups to sign their petitions. It's all smoke and mirrors. Take away the funding from the Joyce Foundation and other purely political sources and all the paid employees vanish, and MAIG collapses like a house of cards.
MAIG (and Coleman) is just the mouthpiece of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who, when he's not busy meddling with people's soda drinks or chastising mothers for feeding the wrong milk to their babies, wants to interfere with Ohio citizens' Second Amendment rights.
Someone send a memo. Mr. Bloomberg, you're only the mayor of one city. When we want your input, we'll ask for it.
