Buckeye Firearms Assoc. President Jim Irvine appears on The Daily Show
Buckeye Firearms Association President Jim Irvine appeared on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on April 29, 2014. The segment was part of comedy show's coverage of the 2014 NRA Annual Meetings held in Indianapolis.
Are they biased against gun rights? Sure.
Do they make fun of pretty much everyone who comes on the show? Yep.
Is it funny? Your mileage may vary.
Was it worth the three hours Irvine spent on the interview? "Absolutely," he says.
"You do something like this because they have great ratings. Most of their audience will never support us, so there's nothing to lose, but they also have many people watching who will hear about us for the first time, and be sympathetic to what we are working on and be smart enough to know we are serious, even if the show is not. Those are the ones I'm looking to connect with.
"I guess if they had three hours of tape to make fun of me with, and this is all they got, I had a good day."
