WKBN (CBS Youngstown) is reporting that a 23-year-old concealed handgun license-holder fired several shots late Wednesday at three masked gunmen who attempted to steal his car at a gas station on Youngstown's South Side.
From the article:
David Ferguson, 23, was shot in the arm during the brief shootout at the South Avenue Gas Mart, thwarted an attempted carjacking by firing five shots from the gun he carried on his right hip.
His cousin, Eric Moschella, 32, was shot in the leg. Moschella was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with a gunshot to his upper left leg, where he was listed in stable condition.
Ferguson told police he was inside the South Avenue Gas Mart when he heard Moschella yelling for him. When he came outside two masked men were standing at the back driver's side and passenger doors to his 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue and another standing at the front driver's seat firing shots at Moschella, who was crawling on the ground towards the gas station door.
Ferguson told police he fired five shots at the men, hitting the car. He said he was unsure if he hit any of the masked men, who fled east on E. Dewey Avenue.
According to the article, officers reported they saw three men matching the description of the masked men walking on Gibson Avenue, but lost them when the trio fled behind tall grass.
