Two great things that go great together

In the big family of Second Amendment lovers, we are the most diverse group of folks the world has ever known. Heck, I have even met self-proclaimed liberals who fervently support firearm rights. (Between you and me, I think they are really Independents, but I digress.) In modern society you will not find a bigger supporter of your Second Amendment rights than the motorcycle riders you share the road with.

Motorcycles and guns go together like peanut butter and jelly! The mindsets are so similar, so this should come as no big surprise if you think about it. When one rides you have to be totally 360 aware and have a command of your situational awareness. You have to identify movers coming into your protection bubble, their intent, harm potential, etc. What's more, just like many gun owners, motorcycle riders are CONSTANTLY adding stuff to their bikes! Stock is never enough, more chrome here, an LED light there. God-forbid Harley Davidson has a stroke of marketing genius and puts picatinny rails on their bikes! Probably the most blood-brother aspect bringing the firearm and biker culture together is the driving, gut-level thirst for freedom. You will never see more America-loving, flag-carrying group of folks in your life. Riders are die-hard Americans with a wide variety of backgrounds: veterans, firefighters, police, doctors, lawyers, etc.

At this time let me introduce our club. We are the 2nd Amendment Motorcycle Club (2AMC), a group of law-abiding bikers that live, breath, and support the Second Amendment. Each member of the club must pass a criminal background check as a non-negotiable prerequisite. Through TV/media many motorcycle clubs are profiled as 1% clubs that deal in vices and criminal activity. Not us. Our goals are to promote gun rights and American pride, bring awareness to charities, and of course enjoy the freedom of riding two wheels down an open road. Our club is male prospects only, but we do make it a point to include ladies, significant-others and family members on "family weekend rides" to state parks, gun ranges, or the coordinated BBQ. Our point of outreach is to spread the knowledge of safety and firearms skill to future members.

This summer we will be combining the "two great things, that go great together", 2AMC and Buckeye Firearms Foundation. The first annual GREAT AMERICAN GUN RUN will be held on July 2nd. Without giving too much away it will be similar to a traditional 'poker run' but with a shooting flair. Riders will be supporting a cause near and dear to our hearts, the FASTER Saves Lives program (www.fastersaveslives.org).
