FLASH: CHL-holder killed; suspect critically wounded in robbery

A man is dead, and a boy is badly injured in an attempted robbery shootout Tuesday morning.
Police say shots were fired around 8:45 a.m. in the area of E.156th and Lakeshore.
A preliminary investigation revealed the owner of United Check Cashing store was opening for business when three suspects approached him.
Gunfire was exchanged when the 14-year-old boy allegedly shot the check-cashing employee in the chest. The employee then reportedly shot the boy in the head.
EMS transported the two victims to Huron Hospital.
The suspect is believed to be in critical condition. The owner was pronounced dead.
Police say the owner of the store had a conceal and carry weapon permit.
No names have been released at this time.
The two other suspects are still at large.
