"Get out, get out, get out!" Father's frantic plea for family to flee before 'stabbing burglar six times'

Homeowner attacked burglar after he tried to force his way into his home

The UK Daily Mail reported recently that "a wealthy company boss" in England has been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death a burglar who was threatening his life, and that of his wife and son.

Vincent Cooke, 39, was confronted on his doorstep by two thugs who then forced their way into his £350,000 home in the Cheshire stockbroker belt

As the pair ransacked the house, Mr Cooke’s wife, Karen, 34, and son Anthony, 12, returned home and stumbled on the robbery.

Mr Cooke shouted at them to run for safety and then began grappling with the robbers.

...The brave dad then tried to fight off the men and Jacob was stabbed six times in the arms and legs after a huge struggle broke out in the kitchen. It is thought he bled to death after being stabbed in the thigh.

A police source said: "Mr. Cooke shouted, 'Get out, get out, get out' and his wife and child ran round to a neighbour's house where they were able to alert police.

In the meantime Mr. Cooke managed to fight back and during the scuffle Jacob suffered multiple stab wounds and stumbled towards the front door and collapsed."

According to the article, Cooke's alleged accomplice escaped in a white van parked around the corner.

Jacob had been jailed numerous times for theft, robbery and burglary over the past 20 years. He had also been jailed for 18 months for grievous bodily harm after beating a man senseless. The police source said: "Raymond Jacob was known to us as a persistent offender.

"Obviously we will be conducting a full investigation into how he met his death.

"The file will then be handed to the Crown Prosecution Service for them to decide on possible charges."

Detectives investigating the stabbing told the newspaper they must determine whether it was 'a criminal act' or 'self-defense'.

What does it take for a group of legislators to grasp a concept? Reality setting in yet? Keep prosecuting your citizens for defending themselves, and you will have another revolution on your hands...a revolution not for sovereignty, but for domestic security. How many incidents need to occur? How many innocent people need to face, not only a nightmare of this magnitude, but the persecution of their own government? Time and again have we heard the results of a man defending his own, resulting in jail time, confiscation of property, public humiliation, etc... Has the system worked? Are people safer due to disarming the general public? Have the people "given in" to this idea of an unarmed populace policed by unarmed police?

How can the powers-that-be in the UK be so blind to the bare facts of the matter? Is there something here we do not see...some reason they do not comprehend what is happening to their society? Why do they not allow their citizens the right, and the tools to defend themselves?

What happened to the provision from the act of 1689 which stated: "no royal interference in the freedom of the people to have arms for their own defense as suitable to their class and as allowed by law... restoring rights previously taken from Protestants by James II" ? Or Henry II's assize of arms of 1181, where "not only were knights and free laymen required to keep and bear arms, their heirs were entitled to these weapons upon their death?" What happened to the empire that, at one time, so firmly grasped the concept of an empowered citizenry?

Many things have happened since then, not the least of which, developed into the Unites States of America...which subsequently included the Second Amendment into its Constitution and Bill of Rights.

What should the UK do about this travesty that has evolved you ask? How about reinstating EVERY law abiding citizen's right to keep and bear arms...? Detrimental to the baseball bat business now booming there, but an awesome boost to the economy in retail sale of firearms and related items, along with the rush for proper training in the use of their new found tools of independence!
