Hagan Campaign to CCW supporters: He's ''NOT your Candidate''
As we continue our investigation of the illegal Hagan/Flanary flyer being distributed at the GM Powertrain plant in Defiance, OH, we are receiving more and more information on just where Mr. Hagan truly does stand on Concealed Carry Reform, and on gun control.
The following letter was forwarded to us, and we have verified its authenticity as having been mailed by the Hagan campaign:
Date: Wed, 02 Oct 2002 17:08:10 -0400

Mr. [name withheld],
If you are deciding your vote on this issue alone, I don't believe my brother is your candidate. Tim is opposed to the current conceal-carry bill because he believes it is a badly written bill. He believes this bill would
allow guns to be carried into public buildings such as schools, daycares,
hospitals and banks. He has indicated that when he is governor, he would consider a "reasonable, rational, and responsible" conceal-carry bill. Tim wants to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, criminals, and terrorists. He supports hunters and sportsmen and believes Ohio can do more to make this state a destination for outdoor recreation. I hope you look at all the important issues facing this state before you make your decision. My brother is a strong leader and will move this state in a positive direction. Thank you for sharing your question with us. Feel free to contact us again.
Sincerely,
Monica Hagan
Commentary by Chad D. Baus:
Obviously, this Hagan spokesperson (and Hagan himself?) is unfamiliar with HB274, or deliberately lying about its content to defend his position. In any case, the Hagan for CCW question is dead and buried. If Tim Hagan is somehow elected Governor and has anyting to say about it, Ohioans are in for a very long wait for Concealed Carry Reform law.
