Happy New Year!
I think I'm speaking for nearly everyone when I say that this has been a crappy year and that we're all glad to start a new one.
It's going to take time to get back to normal, but we're on the way.
We'll face unique challenges with the start of a new Presidential administration. And as I write this, the fate of several Ohio gun bills remains uncertain. But 2021 is the start of not only a new year, but a new legislative session.
So while there will be challenges, there will also be opportunities.
Recently, BFA played a key role in helping many pro-gun candidates win their elections across the state. We've helped block the passage of an onslaught of gun control laws. And with your help, we've delivered tens of thousands of emails to lawmakers in support of pro Second Amendment legislation.
Plus we've worked on the Division of Wildlife's Range Committee to help upgrade and reopen public shooting ranges and expand public shooting opportunities, worked with sheriff offices to keep them open after shutdowns hit Ohio, and passed bills to extend carry license expiration dates when thousands of Ohioans couldn't get renewal appointments.
We've sued major cities to stop illegal gun control, fought Bloomberg's minions trying to disarm school teachers protecting our kids, and pushed back against local city councils' infringing ordinances.
And this just scratches the surface. BFA's massive leadership team, covering all corners of the state, and our thousands of members, supporters, and donors, are standing guard and taking action every day on behalf of Ohio's 4 million gun owners.
Plus we leverage our personal working relationships with national organizations such as the NRA, NSSF, and Sportsmen's Alliance, to dramatically multiply our influence on a wide range of gun, hunting, and sportsmen issues.
As we begin a new year, we will continue to fight for your rights and work tirelessly to make Ohio a better place for ourselves and the next generation.
