I received an interesting piece of mail. It was not a bill, a letter from Nigeria saying I won money, or correspondence from a long lost friend. This letter contained some deep personal information about myself. Not only was this person able to get my address but he was also able to find much more information on me in just seconds. How did he even get my name in the first place? From the Sandusky Register publishing my name, age and county along with all the other CCW holders.

This posting of our names and info not only betrayed the law-abiding citizens who have gone through the proper training and background checks, but now also puts us in danger.

I used to be employed by the Register and was proud to be associated with them. However, the current regime has let their political posturing get the better of them and is now ruining what was once a great local paper.

If you wanted to do something about CCW, why not send a reporter through one of the classes? Why not do a real story, instead of revealing what was meant to be concealed.

I ask Matt Westerhold to stand up and do the right thing.

Stand up and apologize to the innocent members of the public you have betrayed. Stand up and apologize for your paper comparing us to child molesters.

I understand that this list can never be deleted because Google has cached the info, so I cannot ask you to delete the list.

However I can ask you to be human, admit your mistakes and move on. I am not looking for people to lose their jobs over this like others are, I am just looking for a rebirth of common sense at the Register building. When this happens, I will gladly re-subscribe.
