Lorain, OH's Morning Journal endorses Jeffry Armbruster for Senate 13
Republican Jeffry Armbruster has represented Senate District 13 since 1998, and is seeking re-election.
In the Lorain, OH Morning Journal's words, "He is a successful businessman, owning a chain of gasoline stations, and has served as mayor and councilman in North Ridgeville. Armbruster knows the people and knows the ropes as far as getting things done at the state level."
Armbruster's opponent, Sue Morano, "clearly can't bring to this job the wealth of practical know-how Armbruster possesses, in order to turn intentions into accomplishments. We also question Morano's judgment as a political newcomer. She has allowed her campaign, managed by Jack Kilroy, to start a full-blown mud fight with Armbruster.
Kilroy was paid a hefty $18,000, plus expenses, for his campaign manager services between June 20 and Oct. 9, according to campaign spending reports. You might call that an ''attacks and spend'' strategy. It's too bad they didn't take a higher road."
Recently, House Minority Leader Greg L. DiDonato of New Philadelphia said at least $700,000 would be spent in trying to unseat Republican Sens. Jeffry J. Armbruster of North Ridgeville, and Kevin J. Coughlin of Cuyahoga Falls. Their opponents, Tom Bevan and Sue Morano, already have received $100,000 apiece from the Democratic caucus.
While not qualifying for the OFCC PAC's endorsement, Armbruster has expressed some level of support for Concealed Carry Reform, and is considered by the OFCC PAC to be the better choice in his district.
Ohio Senate District 13 includes Lorain County, Huron County and part of Seneca County.
