LTE: Shooting blanks with factless anti-gun letter
On Tuesday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer published a letter to the editor from gun ban extremist Rosie Craig, in which she asserted that gun control was working to control gun crime in Canada.
That kind of outrageous claim deserved a reply, and on Thursday the Plain Dealer published it:
- October 20, 2005

What was she thinking?
In her Oct. 18 letter, "It's hard to discern gun facts without data," gun-ban extremist Rosie Craig stated that "Canada, with its gun registration and strict gun laws, continues to see its homicide rates drop to unbelievably low levels."
But just 11 days before Craig's letter, a Toronto Star headline screamed, "Gun killings on rise for 3rd year in a row - Canada sees 12 per cent spike in homicide rate."
Gun-ban activists like Craig will find it hard to discern gun facts no matter how much data there is - because they are blinded by their bigotry against law-abiding, freedom-loving gun owners.
