Man shot while mediating dispute

One can't help but wonder if any of the parties involved (including the innocent victim) had read the arbitrary "Conflict Avoidance and Alternative Dispute Resolution" commentary provided in the Ohio Concealed Carry Law booklet....?

AKRON - A 21-year-old Akron man who was shot in the abdomen after trying to intervene during an argument was in critical condition, Akron police said Sunday night.

Calvin Kinney, who was shot once in the abdomen, was taken to Akron City Hospital, where he underwent surgery for the gunshot wound, police said.

The shooting occurred about 3 p.m. in the 800 block of Barbara Avenue when Kinney was called to mediate a dispute between two women, police said. Shortly after Kinney arrived, a suspect shot Kinney once then fled the scene.

The suspect was apprehended a short time later on Palmetto Avenue when he tried to ram a police vehicle. An officer used a stun gun to subdue him.
