Doctors cite fake mass-shooting data to justify questioning patients about guns

Fake mass-shooting data has infected the medical community for a long time, and the infection is spreading. The latest fake news, which was published by Advances in Pediatrics, was titled: “A Review of Community-Based Gun Violence Prevention Programs and the Physician’s Role.”

MEMORIAL DAY 2024: In 1788, Ohio law required ALL men aged 16-50 to bear arms

On July 25, 1788, the first Ohio law to establish and regulate a militia was published in Marietta. It mandated all men between 16 and 50 perform military duty. They were required to arm themselves with a musket and bayonet, a cartridge box, powder horn, one pound of powder and four pounds of lead.

Narrative: Anti-gunners seek safety; pro-gunners care only about rights. Wrong!

Far too often when a media outlet reports on "gun violence," the undertone in the article almost always favors the viewpoint of gun grabbers, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Objective journalists should be more attuned to unbiased facts and less focused on an ideological narrative.

Anti-gun Democrats (again) unable to hide contempt for ordinary Americans

It has become a tradition in recent elections for anti-gun Democrats to condescendingly refer to opposition voters as too stupid and bigoted to act in their own best interests. The latest example of this came from none other than former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), whose Bay Area district covers arguably the most anti-gun jurisdiction in the country.

ATF private gun sales FFL rule defeated in Texas district court

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) suffered another defeat in a federal Texas district court. This time, U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the ATF. This ruling prevented the bureau from enforcing its new rule on who needs a federal firearms license (FFL) to sell a gun.

Senate joint resolution would block ATF 'engaged in the business' rule

NSSF fully supports the Congressional Review Act (CRA) Resolution of Disapproval of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) “Engaged in the Business” Final Rule. The CRA was introduced and led by U.S. Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) and was co-sponsored by 43 additional senators.

The state of crime: A steep decline or another Bidenesque wild story?

In his State of the Union address this year, President Joe Biden proclaimed that “Americans deserve the freedom to be safe, and America is safer today than when I took office,” boasting that “[l]ast year, the murder rate saw the sharpest decrease in history, and violent crime fell to one of the lowest levels in more than 50 years.” What are voters to make of this?

Ninth Circuit panel: Convicted felons have Second Amendment rights

On May 9, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit published a split decision vacating the conviction of Steven Duarte for violating 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). Given the history of the Ninth Circuit, it is almost certain the government of California will ask for an en banc (all judges) review of this case. En banc is likely to be granted.

Gun prohibitionist's convertible pistol bill could ban all semi-autos in New York

“Proposed legislation in New York could make the state the first in the nation to block gun makers from selling pistols if they don’t take measures to prevent them from being able to be converted to fire like machine guns,” The Wall Street Journal reported May 7.

'Poison everything': AOC misfires on claims about lead ammo

In a demonstration that America’s outdoors and recreational shooting sports pastimes still bring people together, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 615 in a bipartisan vote, sending the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act over to the U.S. Senate for consideration. U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) spoke out against H.R. 615, reciting a false statement that is...

Canada PM Trudeau's gun confiscation initiative hits 4-year milestone

Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s “assault weapon” ban and confiscation (mandatory “buyback”) scheme was announced on May 1, 2020. True to form, some 1,500 days post-launch, three government ministers, two amnesty period extensions, and tens of millions of dollars later, it has become increasingly obvious how hopelessly bad the Liberal government’s misguided gun control scheme is, with a...

President Ronald Reagan gave us the answer to rejecting gun control

President Joe Biden said it again. Given another term, he’ll do gun control. Compare that to the 1968 words of Ronald Reagan: “We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.”

SCOTUS takes up Biden administration's attempt to redefine 'firearm'

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear an appeal from the Biden Justice Department that asks the high court to lift a stay on an ATF rule supposedly meant to crack down on “ghost guns.” But the bigger, and oft-ignored, issue in the case is ATF’s attempt to massively expand its authority by reinterpreting the meaning of “firearm” itself.
