Success is achieved in earnest through effort and will. It isn't as simple as declaring "no compromise" and expecting results. It takes communication, education, understanding, trust, and mutual respect. And it is why Buckeye Firearms Association is successful. Here is a look at seven of our many accomplishments in 2024.

Peer-reviewed study: Unregulated gun shows save lives

In a paper published in 2008, comparing highly regulated California gun shows with relatively unregulated Texas gun shows, there was no statistical difference in suicide rates or in homicide rates in California. The Texas gun shows, with far less regulation, showed a statistically significant drop in the homicide rate.

Headed to the governor: 2 BFA-backed bills to prohibit firearms liability insurance, sales tracking, registries

The Ohio Senate voted 25-6 yesterday, Dec. 18, to send amended Senate Bill 58 to Gov. Mike DeWine's desk — legislation that would prohibit requiring firearm liability insurance or being required to pay a fee for the possession of a firearm, part of a firearm, its components, its ammunition, or a knife.

Buckeye Institute, a think tank whose mission is "to advance free-market public policy," on Dec. 3 filed its second amicus brief in Smith & Wesson v. Mexico, asking the U.S. Supreme Court to stop Mexico from shifting blame onto American firearms manufacturers for its own failure to control drug crime there.
