BFA PAC announces second round of 2016 endorsements
We started this year’s endorsements with Sheriffs because they have best exemplified the role of doing their job in service to Ohio voters, especially concealed handgun license-holders.
For the second round, we tackle statewide races, including Supreme Court justices and the U.S. Senate. We've also added a few more local candidates.
In this round we have endorsed three candidates for Ohio Supreme Court: Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor, Judge Pat Fischer and Judge Pat DeWine. We all know that all of our legislative victories can be wiped out by activist judges who legislate from the bench. Chief Justice O’Connor has an established record sitting on Ohio’s highest court. I have personally met with Judges Fischer and DeWine. Each of these candidates have a strong record of upholding the law which is what our side needs in a judge. Honesty, integrity, and a duty to uphold the rule of law; to be fair and unbiased in their assessment of each case. These are the qualities of a good justice and I’m sure each one is worthy of our support.
Rob Portman is endorsed by Buckeye Firearms Association for his re-election bid to remain our U.S. Senator. Ohio’s other Senator is hard-core anti-self-defense and Portman's opponent, who was formally pro-gun, has taken up the hostile treatment of gun owners and frequently parrots Obama and Hillary talking points. Rob Portman's race is critical for Ohio gun owners.
We also endorsed State School Board candidate Lisa Woods and other local candidates. We will add more local candidates closer to the election, so check back if there are none listed for your county/city.
Advertising dollars are spent disproportionately on national and “top of ticket” partisan races. But local candidates control more of your life. Justices have severe limitations on their ability to raise money.
These candidates are in round two because they are important and they are dependent on you. Please help us by talking about them and helping those close to you to get to know them.
Thank you for supporting our endorsed candidates. For a complete list of our endorsed candidates, click here.
