BFA Thoughts on the Las Vegas Mass Murders

After the cowardly attack on innocent concert goers in Las Vegas, the media started asking us to comment. And all the usual anti-gun suspects started calling for stricter gun control laws before the spent casings were cold.

Buckeye Firearms Association mourns the senseless slaughter and our hearts go out to the families of survivors. However, unlike the anti-gun zealots who can't even take a one-day break from politics, we prefer to form opinions based on facts. So we'll withhold comment until we know a lot more about what really happened.

What we DO know is that when these events occur, the early reporting is often deeply flawed. And what appears to be true in the first hours can turn out to be entirely untrue days or weeks later. We also know that the gun laws pushed by gun control advocates will not stop these events.

So let's all take a deep breath. Let's allow the authorities to complete their investigation. Then, when all the facts are in, we'll take a cold, hard look at this horrific event.

But my guess is that while we'll study this event for years, and actually learn from it, the media and the gun grabbers will have already moved on to their next fact-free rant.
