Resident defends own life during home invasion

Another Ohio homeowner was forced to defend themselves from a home invader who forced entry into his home at around 10:30pm.

Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies were called to an apartment in the 3300 block of Susannah Ave. after receiving reports of a burglary in progress. When crews arrived, they found the suspect forced their way in through the back door of the apartment after breaking several windows.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office told 2 NEWS the resident shot the suspect who died at the scene.

The Montgomery County Coroner has identified the man who died as 22-year-old Nader Adam, of Harrison Township.

Under Ohio's Castle Doctrine law, if someone unlawfully enters or attempts to enter an occupied home or temporary habitation, or occupied car, citizens have an initial presumption that they may act in self defense, and will not be second-guessed by the State.
