Mall struck by 'Retail Rapist'; later posts signs disarming employees/customers

Ohioans For Concealed Carry has learned that one of the Ohio businesses which is discriminating against concealed handgun license (CHL)-holders, and acting to render their employees defenseless has had two high-profile incidents involving armed and violent criminals in just the past few months.

In January 2004, a Van Huesen store at Prime Outlet Malls at US35/I71 in Jeffersonville was robbed by a violent criminal. Employees were bound with duct tape, and the FBI believes the perpetrator was the suspect who is becoming known throughout southwest Ohio as the "retail rapist".

Despite having first-hand knowledge of just how dangerous it can be to render employees defenseless, and with the fact that criminals are not deterred by gun prohibitions, the management at Prime Outlet Malls have posted signs banning CHL-holders from their stores.

This isn't the first time violent criminals have frequented Prime Outlets Mall. Just a month earlier, in December 2003, several juveniles (armed with a stolen handgun) were apprehended after having robbed their drug dealer in the mall parking lot.
