Ohio Primary Election Early Voting Begins Tuesday, April 5, 2022

Tuesday, April 5, 2022, is the start of early voting in Ohio for the Primary Election.

Please check BFA PAC grades and endorsements before you vote. Our PAC will continue to update our endorsement page as we collect more information.

The Primary will be different this year, so here's what you need to know.

2 SEPARATE PRIMARIES

Because lawmakers have been struggling to finalize district maps, the Primary Election will be divided into two separate elections. The first will be on May 3, and the second on August 2. The second Primary is being referred to as a "Special Election."

According to the Secretary of State's website:

Ohio voters will find the following races on their (May 3) primary ballot:

• Governor
• Attorney General
• Auditor of State
• Secretary of State
• Treasurer of State
• Ohio Supreme Court
• U.S. Senate
• U.S. Representative to Congress
• Additional Judicial and municipal candidates

Assuming nothing else changes, the offices of State Senator, State Representative, and Member of State Central Committee will appear on the Aug. 2 Special Election ballot.

Here are some important election dates:

MAY 3, 2022 PRIMARY ELECTION

• Early In-Person Voting: Begins April 5 and includes the Saturday, Sunday and Monday before Election Day
• Absentee Voting By Mail: Begins April 5
• Election Day: May 3 (Polls Open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.)

AUGUST 2, 2022 SPECIAL ELECTION

• Military & Overseas Absentee Voting: Begins June 17
• Deadline to Register to Vote: July 5
• Early In-Person Voting: Begins July 6 and includes the Saturday, Sunday and Monday before Election Day
• Absentee Voting By Mail: Begins July 6
• Election Day: August 2 (Polls Open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.)

NOVEMBER 8, 2022 GENERAL ELECTION

• Military & Overseas Absentee Voting: Begins September 23
• Deadline to Register to Vote: October 11
• Early In-Person Voting: Begins October 12 and includes the two Saturdays, the Sunday and the Monday before Election Day
• Absentee Voting By Mail: Begins October 12
• Election Day: November 8 (Polls Open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.)
