Because lawmakers struggled to finalize district maps, the Ohio Primary Election for 2022 has been divided into two separate elections: the first on May 3, and the second, today, on August 2.
The May 3 Primary ballot included federal candidates, Ohio statewide races, and Judicial candidates. Today's election will include candidates for State Senate, State House, and State Central Committee.
Because of the confusion and split primary, turnout could be historically low. But that's an opportunity for us to have a larger than usual effect on the outcome. And that's why it's vital for you to vote for the candidates who will support and defend your Second Amendment rights.
Here are some reminders:
- Because turnout is expected to be low, some polling locations could be relocated. Confirm your voting place before you go.
- Look at a sample ballot for your location to see what races and candidates you will be voting for. Many candidates didn't make the ballot, but others have been added due to court rulings. It's a mess. But your sample ballot should show you what will actually be on your ballot.

- Mark your calendar for Ohio's General Election on Nov. 8, 2022. The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 11. Early and absentee voting begins Oct. 12. You can find additional election information here.
