Xenia man held in bank robbery
MIDDLETOWN | A Xenia man is in the city jail, charged with robbing a bank, Middletown police said.
Daniel Wayne Waggoner, 31, was apprehended by Xenia police at his residence about 4 p.m. Monday, Middletown police Detective Frank Hensley said.
Police said a man walked into the Fifth Third Bank branch in the Kroger on Towne Boulevard about 10:30 a.m., and passed a note demanding money. He did not display a gun, witnesses said.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber ran west, then turned north in front of Hollywood Video, Lt. Don Owens said. Most of the money was recovered after the arrest. Police said the robber may have had a getaway vehicle waiting, but witnesses said they did not see one.
Waggoner is to be arraigned Wednesday in Municipal Court.
