Tale of Two Cities: Troy video store robbed; Jacksonville robber killed
Woman sought in store robbery
Dayton Daily News
TROY | Police are looking for a woman who pulled a gun on a video rental store employee Friday and took off with a small amount of cash.
According to a 911 report, the woman entered Diamond Video, at 19 S. Norwich Road, about 7 p.m. and looked at rental movies.
She approached the counter with several items and pulled a gun when the employee opened the cash register.
Police want to talk with a male customer who was in another room during the robbery and saw the robber, but left before police arrived. If you have information about the robbery, call 339-7525, Ext. 437.
Meanwhile, in a state that allows its law-abiding citizens to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense, a different outcome resulted when this Florida man was confronted, for the 20th time, by two armed assailants in his bar:
The Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville, FL
Held up 19 times and wounded once in the last three years, Ben Shaffer, a Cleveland, Ohio, bar owner, foiled the latest attempt. He pulled a .25 automatic and killed one of two hoodlums. The second fled.
• Could the lifting of Ohio's unconstitutional ban on carrying a concealed weapon for self-defense have saved this Troy robbery victim?
