Another two-time Buckeye Firearms Assoc. endorsee to run for Congress

The Dayton Daily News is reporting that State Sen. Jim Jordan (R-Urbana), will run next year for the 4th District congressional seat being vacated by the retirement of U.S. Rep. Mike Oxley.

Jordan is the first for formally announce his intention to seek the congressional seat that represents a large swath of central Ohio.

The 4th District includes Champaign, Shelby, Logan and Auglaize counties and extends east to Mansfield.

Jordan has been a member of the Ohio Senate since 2001. He was a member of the Ohio House from 1995 to 2000.

"As a member of the state legislature, I have led the fight on the issues that matter most to families, like cutting taxes and defending our traditional conservative values," Jordan said in a statement released Thursday by his campaign. "I am running for Congress with renewed energy to make a difference on these important issues."

Last August, Buckeye Firearms Association endorsee Jean Schmidt was elected to U.S. Congress in a special election. Schmidt recently made news by completing a concealed carry course offered by Buckeye Firearms Association volunteer Collin Rink.

Although we are excited about the prospect of having another strong pro-gun legislator in Congress, should he win, the firearms movement in Ohio will miss the strong leadership Jim Jordan has exhibited in the Ohio Senate.
