Ohio News Network details Ohio Police Chief Assoc. concerns with HB347
The Ohio News Network (ONN) is running a segment on HB347.
The segment includes statements in support of HB347 from the bill's sponsor, Representative Jim Aslanides, who said that an amended version of the bill would be introduced soon, as well as from Buckeye Firearms Association Legislative Chair Ken Hanson. (Note: graphics in video incorrectly identify Rep. Aslanides as Mr. Hanson and vice versa).
John Gilchrist, and attorney for the Ohio Police Chief Association, speaks in opposition of the bill.

What follows is more background on Mr. Gilchrist's previous statements against concealed carry...
John Gilchrist – Prior House testimony on H.B. 12
- “(OACP) believes…passage of the bill will make the job of a peace officer more dangerous” and that “there will be a net increase in the amount of gun violence.”
“Common sense tells us that accidents will become a daily event,” and that “many of those who will carry a concealed weapon will also be under the influence of alcohol.”
To date John Gilchrest has provided zero examples of law enforcement being threatened by CHL-holders, or of a net increase in gun violence. He has not provided any evidence that he is aware of any accidents by license holders, or whether or not that constitutes a “daily event.” Nor has Gilchrest provided evidence as to how many license holders have been convicted for possession of a handgun while intoxicated, or whether they constitute “many of those who will carry a concealed weapon?”
John Gilchrest was wrong about his predictions as to what would happen if concealed carry became law in Ohio. Why should legislators listen to him now?
