Buckeye Firearms is the Grassroots Organization of the Year!
By Jim Irvine
Alan Gottlieb presented Buckeye Firearms Association with the Citizens Committee For The Right To Keep And Bear Arms (CCRKBA) “2007 Grassroots Organization of the Year” award at the Second Amendment Foundation’s 22nd annual Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) held in Covington, Kentucky.
It reads:
In Recognition of the Tireless Hard Work and Dedication to the Preservation of the Individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms by its Members
Anytime one wins an award it is nice, but winning an award from the CCRKBA is a special honor. I’m proud of our volunteers and the work they have done. They are the ones who earned this award.
This is the 3rd straight year I have attended the GRPC, and I learn new things every year. Each year I leave feeling re-energized with new ideas and goals. This year was especially enjoyable with so many friends able to attend this great event. Buckeye has been fortunate to have volunteers to help in executing plans that are born listening to some of the greatest minds in our movement.
It is important to note that this award was not presented to me, or to some group of leaders – it was presented to “Buckeye Firearms Association.” You are Buckeye Firearms Association. You are the ones who donate your money to fund us, donate your time to volunteer for our endorsed candidates, visit with your legislators and explain our issues to them, write letters to the editor, and print stories from our web-site to distribute to your local clubs, ranges, and firearms stores. You are the ones who have stepped up to the plate and sacrificed, knowing that your actions alone would not influence much, but understood that by recruiting more people you could begin a tidal wave. You trusted in your fellow gun-owners to join you in your work. And together we are making a difference and being heard like never before.
Buckeye Firearms Association is something our anti-gun adversaries can only dream of; we are an army of volunteers who understand our issue, and that the greatest rewards come from dedicated work. Our Second Amendment Rights are one of the pillars of our great Country and we will continue our fight to restore them.
It is an honor to be able to call so many fellow volunteers friends. Thank you for sharing your skills and resources to make our group successful. A special thanks also to your family members, who so graciously allow you to spend your family time pursuing this passion. Without their support and understanding, we would not be where we are today.
CONGRATULATIONS to you – the volunteers who won this prestigious award. You have earned it.
