Rapist charged with illegally having handguns
By Gerard Valentino
The Port Clinton News Herald is reporting that a convicted rapist was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm while under disability. This incident marks yet another example of how the laws currently in place, if properly enforced, take illegal guns out of the hands of criminals.
From the story:
A convicted rapist was charged Friday with illegally keeping handguns in his car and home, the sheriff’s office reported.
Matthew Duval, 21, 23172 Centerfield Drive, Clay Township, faces two felony counts of having weapons while under disability and one misdemeanor count of improper handling of a firearm.
A common lie perpetrated by the anti-gunners among us is that they only want to take guns out of the hands of criminals. Here is a perfect example of how enforcing current laws does just that.
The sheriff’s office should be commended for a proper investigation and hopefully an imminent conviction.
In typical fashion, the anti-gun minority will scream that just the fact that such a criminal got his hands on a gun is proof that gun laws need to be more restrictive. Typical of their slippery slope based plan for total gun confiscation. They want to slowly close off the right to bear arms under the guise of “reasonable” gun control.
There reaction to cases like this is further proof they are after all of our guns. If they only cared about keeping guns out of the hands of rapists and murders they would applaud law enforcement in these cases.
Exposing the anti-gun schemers is easy since their actions and motives are so transparent. Only a complicit main stream media props up their failed ideology.
Buckeye Firearms would like to congratulate the Ottawa County Sheriff’s office for their excellent work in this case. By putting this violent felon in jail, hopefully for a long time, they made all Ohioans safer. Surely, their actions kept another lady from being raped, or worse.
