There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.
What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.
From an elderly man being murdered to gas station robbery, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

7/4/08: Akron, Ohio: Man Dies In Gas Station Shooting

Akron police say a 62-year-old man was shot and killed around 11:30 a.m. Friday at a Circle K gas station on W. Market Street in Akron.
Violence can erupt at anytime, including in the middle of the afternoon. Always be prepared to defend yourself!
7/3/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Cleveland Announces Plan To Keep Streets Safe This Summer

The city's latest crackdown on crime is called Operation Focus and police said it will be similar to a joint effort with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to keep Cleveland neighborhoods safe.
From now until the start of the school year, police from across the division are being redeployed to areas known for violent crime.
It looks like the city of Cleveland may finally start targeting real criminals instead of law-abiding gun owners.
7/3/08: Beachwood, Ohio: 90-Year-Old Talks About Being Attacked

Klein talked to NewsChannel5 from his hospital bed about the attack that left him with a black eye and other injuries. He said someone came up to his car window and told him to get out of the car, and when Klein refused, the assailant threw him out of the car.
Violent crimes such as carjackings can happen anywhere. They even happen in affluent and relatively safe cities like Beachwood. Unfortunately, the unarmed victim was injuried and was unable to protect himself.
7/3/08: Claridon Township: Geauga County Woman Stabbed To Death

Marileyda Pfister had protection on paper but it wasn't enough to save her life.
The 30-year-old Claridon Township mother of three was stabbed to death Wednesday by her husband, who was ordered less than a week ago to stay away from her, said officials from the Geauga County Sheriff's Office.
Our prayers go out to the victim's family and we are truely thankful that the children were not physically harmed. However, this incident helps prove the fact that protection papers and police officers who are several minutes away do NOT offer any real protection. A firearm could have provided protection from a homicidal and abusive husband.
7/2/08: Brooklyn, Ohio: Brooklyn Police Looking For Brick-Wielding Burglar

The break-in happened June 27 at Brooklyn Acres at Ridge Road and Memphis Avenue. The victim was sleeping on the couch and avoided being struck by the brick, Deputy Chief Scott Mielke said.
Home invasions appear to be happening more often. A firearm is the most effective way to defend yourself from armed attackers who invade your home.
7/2/08: Mentor, Ohio: Dawn Gunman Hits Clerk, Robs Mentor Gas Station

The robber showed the clerk a gun then struck the clerk from behind before stealing an undetermined amount of cash around 5:30 a.m.
Clerks have a very dangerous jobs. Their employers should make sure that they have the proper training and means to protect themselves.
