ATTENTION Ohio Firearms Instructors: CHL Recertification instructions COMING SOON!
Buckeye Firearms Association Legislative Chair Ken Hanson is about to release an Instructor Update that will address many of the concerns facing Ohio Concealed Handgun License (CHL)/NRA Certified Instructors as the time for the first round recertification of CHL students' competency approaches.
Only subscribers to Buckeye Firearms Assocation's FREE Pro-Gun Newsletter will receive this Instructors' Update, which will be emailed to subscribers on Monday, August 25th.
From the update:
With the passing of SB184, and with Ohio’s Concealed Carry law approaching the 5 year anniversary date of passage, I have been receiving questions about what exactly is required to “recertify” a licensee. As you will recall, the competency certificates are good for 6 years from the date of issuance. At 6 years and one day they “expire” and can no longer be used for licensing purposes.
General confusion has arisen over what process to use, and what type of paper to give, to recertify a student.
...So what, exactly, must be done for the recertification?
