Please Join Buckeye Firearms Association For a Candidates Forum March 9th
For the fifth year in a row, Buckeye Firearms Association has teamed up with the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance, as well as several other conservation & firearms-related groups, to host a candidate's forum. The event will take place in Columbus on March 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and we hope you will make plans to attend!
Several Buckeye Firearms Association leaders and volunteers will be on hand. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with us, as well as the many Ohio candidates that will be in attendance. There is no better way to become informed about our choices in the upcoming elections, and to make our voices heard.
Sportsmen to Meet Candidates at Annual Reception
The U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance (USSA) will host a candidate's reception for the Ohio statewide, Congressional and General Assembly candidates on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, and Buckeye Firearms Association is once again a major sponsor.
The event is part of the organization's annual effort to connect Ohio's sportsmen's community with current and potential policymakers.
The reception will be held at the Athletic Club of Columbus from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. located at 136 E. Broad St. in downtown Columbus. Candidates for governor, attorney general, secretary of state and other offices have been invited. They will use the informal atmosphere as an opportunity to meet key opinion leaders from prominent Ohio sportsmen's organizations and to field questions.
The Legislative Reception is possible thanks to numerous sponsors including Gander Mountain, Pheasants Forever, the Ohio State Trappers Association, Buckeye Firearms, Ithaca Gun Company, Southwest Chapter of Safari Club International, Central Ohio Chapter of Safari Club International, Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
"This is a big election year in Ohio," said Evan Heusinkveld, USSA director of state services. "Sportsmen and sportswomen should take full advantage of this opportunity to meet and educate the next generation of legislators on our issues."
The event comes at an opportune time as sportsmen can discuss candidates' views on conservation issues before going to the polls for the primary election on May 4, 2010.
The U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance is a national association of sportsmen and sportsmen’s organizations that protects the rights of hunters, anglers and trappers in the courts, legislatures, at the ballot, in Congress and through public education programs.
