Op-Ed: Bloomberg Will Not Rest In His War On Firearm Freedoms
A look at how this billionaire bankrolls his vision of a disarmed citizenry
by Raquel Okyay
Philanthropist and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is the kind of anti-freedom politician every gun owner should despise. Whether it is the food we eat or the kind of car we drive, Bloomberg likes to stick his nose in other people's business, and tell us what to do. Bloomberg's viewpoints are not just for the New York City folks either, but for all of us, and when it comes to his position on guns, his ego reaches new, obscene levels.
Instrumental in assembling "Mayors Against Illegal Guns," which boosts 500-plus members across the Nation, Bloomberg is on a crusade to restrict innocent Americans from purchasing, carrying and operating firearms. The group says they are "dedicated to making America's cities safer by cracking down on illegal guns." http://www.mayorsagainstillegalguns.org/downloads/pdf/blueprint_federal_...
Hint to Readers: When a politician equates illegal guns with legal guns - we have a problem.
What the egoists - know it all's - do not seem to comprehend is that there is a meaningful difference between the two phrases. First of all, guns are not illegal. In fact, the right to bear arms is guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. When a criminal commits an act against a law, that makes them an offender, but when an innocent Americans are harassed by government officials when attempting to purchase, carry and operate a gun, that’s a violation of the 2nd Amendment.
The really bad news is that MAIG, since its inception in 2006, have been causing havoc on innocent Americans who seek to purchase, carry and operate guns. When very rich people like Michael Bloomberg contribute large sums of money to the cause, they become particularly effective in soliciting – a h e m – buying off other politicians to join them in their anti-freedom crusade.
