Election Day is here.
Buckeye Firearms Association has endorsed more county and local candidates than ever before. We have advised supporters on NRA-endorsed Federal candidates for races we did not endorse in. Every race matters. Please make sure to vote and remind friends and neighbors to vote too. Experts agree that voter turnout will be a deciding factor in many tight races. There will be several races that will be decided by less than 1% of the vote. With your help, we will be on the winning side of that 1%.
Several of our endorsed candidates have been attacked by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). The FOP has testified against every piece of pro-gun legislation that the Ohio legislature has passed. Their predictions have been wrong every time. But they will be there pushing their radical agenda to limit your ability to exercise your right to bear arms and legally and defend your own life. When they attack our endorsed candidates, we must all fight to defend them. We must demonstrate to all that voting with the FOP on gun issues leads to defeat, and voting for freedom brings volunteers and votes on Election Day.
Every voter in the country will vote for President. There are many candidates on the ballot, but only two of them can win. Mitt Romney has vowed to protect your Second Amendment rights. Barack Obama said he wants to limit and restrict your rights. A vote for any other candidate is a vote against Romney, the only candidate who can win and defend your rights.
Every Ohio voter also votes on four more critical races. Pro-gun Josh Mandel for U.S. Senate, and Sharon Kennedy, Terrence O'Donnell and Robert Cupp for Ohio Supreme Court.
Most states have a U.S. Senator up for election. These are six year terms, so it is critical that we elect good people. Senate President Harry Reid has always been pro-gun, but has appointed extreme anti-gun people to powerful committee chairmanship positions. The Republicans must take four Senate seats to have a majority, replace Reid, and appoint pro-gun people to those positions so we can pass national reciprocity and other improvements for gun owners.
Every U.S. Congress seat is up for election. Because of the 2010 census and redistricting, Ohio has lost two seats and combined multiple districts. Other states have added seats. There is going to be significant change in the U.S. House. Make sure you know your new candidates and vote freedom first. Click here to view NRA-PVF endorsement page for your area.

All of the Ohio House and half of the Ohio Senate are up for election. These candidates are the ones to affect changes to concealed carry laws. Most states have similar elections for candidates that control state laws, those which most affect gun owners in day to day life.
There are thousands of other local elections. From county prosecutor, to Sheriff, to city council and judges. All of these offices are important to gun owners. Even offices that do not directly affect gun owners are important because they give a person name recognition to run for higher office.
Elections matter. Vote for the people that will fight for the things that are important to you.
To protect your rights, you must vote for candidates who understand and respect the Second Amendment. And it is vital that you vote in EVERY RACE, including those for local offices.
THE POLLS ARE OPEN TODAY from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
