Three more Ohioans couldn't drive away when attacked this week

"We do not want a loaded firearm readily accessible to the driver of a car. If there's a dangerous situation and you're in your car, you can drive off." - Capt. John Born, Ohio State Highway Patrol.

"...Of all the changes made by the Senate, as a father, I am most proud of the work we did to ensure the safety of Ohio children under this bill." - Steve Austria, who chaired the committee which added Taft's "Carjacker Protection" provision in the Senate.

"The bill as passed by the Senate gives law-abiding citizens the opportunity to protect themselves by carrying a concealed weapon, while protecting the best interests and safety of all Ohioans." Senate President Doug White, who delayed appointing conference committee members for four months for political reasons.

According to GunWeek Magazine, the Ohio State Highway Patrol refuses to answer questions about how their poor advice continues to fail Ohioans, sometimes at the cost of their very lives (see: TONY GORDON DIED TRYING TO FOLLOW OSHP CAPT. JOHN BORN'S ADVICE).

Fairfield woman escapes armed would-be kidnaper

FAIRFIELD — Police are searcing for a man who on Tuesday tried to abduct a woman at gunpoint from the parking lot of the Village Green Kroger store in Fairfield.

A man, holding a black semi-automatic pistol, grabbed the woman’s arm at 5:43 p.m. as she was unloading groceries into her car, said Fairfield Lt. Ken Colburn. The man tried to force the woman into her car, and told her “don’t say a word.”

The woman, who was alone and in her early 40s, started screaming for people to call police, he said.

“She pulled away from him, then he pushed her and walked away,” Colburn said.

The woman was shaken but not injured in the incident, he said.

A woman believed to be a customer in the parking lot saw what had happened, followed the man to his car and was able to prove police with a partial license plate. Colburn said. She was able to provide police with a partial license plate.

“She knew he had a gun and she still followed him,” said Colburn, who said the information she provided was helpful.

The gunman is described as a white male in his 20s who is about 6 feet tall with a medium to stocky build who weighs approximately 190 pounds. He is clean shaven with a medium complexion and dark hair. He was wearing a baggy off-white sweatshirt, blue jeans and a light colored fishing cap, according to witnesses.

He was seen leaving in a car described to police as either a green or black Pontiac Grand Am or a small green or dark blue car similar to a Honda Civic, Colburn said.

The car had a partial license plate of either BV98 or BE98, he said.

Police are asking that anyone with information call Detective Tom Shobe at 896-8256 or dispatch at 639-7820.
