NRA Endorses Kennedy, DeWine, and Fischer for Ohio Supreme Court
It is rare for the NRA Political Victory Fund to get involved in state Supreme Court races, but this year they're giving their endorsement to three must-win candidates: Sharon L. Kennedy, Pat DeWine, and Pat Fischer.
See the official endorsement here under the tab Supreme Court of Ohio.
Kennedy is running for Chief Justice, while DeWine and Fischer are running to retain their seats.
Buckeye Firearms Association leaders have long-standing relationships with all three candidates, especially Sharon Kennedy whom we have supported in past elections. All three have voiced their strong support for the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding Ohio residents to keep and bear arms.
It is vital for all three to win their races given that the current court has handed down some disastrous rulings, one of which shut down armed teacher security programs across the state. Kennedy, DeWine, and Fischer all voted to preserve these programs.
In addition these Justices have ruled favorably in key Ohio cases, such as Ohioans for Concealed Carry v. Columbus, State v. Webster, and Buckeye Firearms v. Cincinnati.
Kudos to BFA leaders, including President Linda Walker, who discussed this endorsement with NRA representatives and supplied detailed information for their endorsement evaluation.
This is a must-win race if you're concerned about gun rights in the Buckeye State. If liberal candidates win even one additional seat on the court, we could see devastating rulings on firearm cases.
Unfortunately, most voters pay little attention to judicial candidates, and historically have cast up to one million fewer votes in these races. So I am urging you to VOTE FOR KENNEDY, DEWINE, AND FISCHER in this midterm election.
