NRA Joins NSSF in Supporting Firearms Microstamping Study Bill
The National Rifle Association (NRA) has announced its support for National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -backed legislation to further study the flawed concept of firearms microstamping. The Firearms Microstamping Evaluation and Study Act (H.R. 5667) directs the U.S. Attorney General to work with the National Academy of Sciences to conduct a comprehensive study of firearms microstamping. Support for this commonsense bipartisan bill is rooted in ensuring that adequate research of microstamping is completed prior to states mandating the flawed concept through the legislative process.
In a press release announcing its support for H.R. 5667, NRA noted, "While the results of the study proposed in this bill cannot be predicted, studies mandated by Congress on other unproven schemes endorsed by gun control supporters have concluded that such schemes were (or would be) ineffective or counterproductive."
