Obama and Holder have spoken out on Zimmerman verdict, but why?
by Tim Inwood
In the wake of the Zimmerman verdict, the President and Attorney General have commented. Their comments, however, weren't really pertaining to the case, as neither firearms nor stand your ground was really at issue. Obama wants to use a case where the pistol was purchased legally with a background check and where the owner had a valid CCW card to push for more gun control. That's insipid. All the ridiculous laws for exercising the right to bear arms were followed. The same administration says requiring an ID card to vote is an overbearing unconstitutional thing, but has turned an enumerated constitutional right into something where you have to get government permission to exercise it. They don't even see the logical disconnect in their absurd position!
Attorney General Holder, who had a role in pardoning FALN terrorists, the late Marc Rich, et al. in the Clinton era, has gone public arguing this case is the vehicle to attack "stand your ground" laws. Let me tell you something: Ohio has a stand your ground law - at least when it comes to your own residence or vehicle; it's called "Castle Doctrine," it works. Prior to getting Castle Doctrine, if someone broke into your home and attacked you, then you had a duty to RETREAT! The law sided with criminals in giving them the advantage, as any house breaker knew that your duty was not to confront them but to flee from your home. We finally have sanity: the criminal is on notice that their victims can defend themselves, and this regime wants to take that away and give the upper hand back to thugs? That's insane, folks.
What is it with this regime and their constant siding with the wrong side on nearly every issue?
Or is this all just a crude attempt to distract us from their various scandals like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the NSA, and the EPA and IRS targeting conservatives? Or that Senator Baucus, a Democrat who introduced Obamacare in the Senate, says it's going to be a "train wreck?" Ponder it.
I know at times it seems that the forces against us are overwhelming, but there are things you can you do. Get registered and vote every election without fail. Many gun owners sat out the last election and it was folly. Join pro-gun organizations like the NRA, GOA, and, of course, your friends at Buckeye Firearms Association. We have been in the fight for years, but we can't do it alone and need your help. So, join the fray and help us protect your gun rights from the powerful who wish to destroy them.
