Ohio Division of Wildlife kicks off new season of Wild Ohio TV
Upcoming episode to feature Buckeye Firearms Association Region Leader
Buckeye Firearms Region Leader and outdoor writer Larry Moore will be appearing in early September with segments on handgun hunting for deer with Todd Haines, Division of Wildlife District 5 Manager. The segments, which are part of "The Basics of Hunting", are scheduled to run approximately Sept 12, depending on the local market and station schedule.
Haines and Moore will cover the basics of handgun hunting for deer in Ohio including the legal handguns, cartridges and season dates. Additional discussion will include type of sights to use, special considerations such as hunting in gloves and bad weather. Practice and shooting tips will be offered. Handguns presented on the show will range from the single action .357 up to the .500 S&W.
Moore notes, "I really enjoyed taping this segment of Wild Ohio. As an avid deer hunter and one who prefers the handgun during the Ohio deer gun week, I am happy to share my passion with viewers. Hopefully the tips in the show will encourage other hunters to pursue deer using handguns."
Moore was previously featured on Wild Ohio TV Show on rabbit hunting with his beagles and two of his children, Trent and Tiffany. Tiffany is also featured on the cover of the current Ohio Hunter Education manual where she is shown holding a wild turkey.
