Ohio House 42: No-Win District for Conceal Carry Reform?
Unfortunately for pro-Conceal Carry Reform voters in House District 42, there is no clear choice for a candidate to represent their constitutional self-defense rights. There is an independant candidate with good local name recognition running for the office, but he has thus far rchosen not to answer candidate survey queries.
John Widowfield, who was appointed to a vacant Republican Ohio House seat and is seeking his first vote from the people, has consistently voted against legislation that would allow more Ohioans to carry concealed weapons.
In the words of the Akron Beacon Journal, his Democrat opponent "offers few strong arguments for replacing Widowfield."
The redrawn 42nd District includes most of Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Stow, Silver Lake and Munroe Falls.
OFCC PAC recommends that voters interested in having their self-defense rights restored should consider a write-in or independent party candidate.
