Home invasions seem to happening more and more. They are just one reason why we must fight for our right to keep and bear arms. In the event of a home invasion, a firearm may save the your life or the lives of your family.

11/5/07: Arcadia, Pennsylvania: Police: Man Arrested For Selling Gun That Killed Officer

Also from the article:

He's accused of breaking into an Arcadia, Pa., home in September 2006 and stealing several firearms, including a 9 mm Highpoint that was used on May 25 to kill Cleveland Heights police officer Jason West.

Police said Smolk sold the stolen weapons on the streets of Cleveland.

In most cases, criminals do not obtain their firearms through legal means. They often get their weapons by stealing them and other illegal ways.

11/2/07: Gary, Indiana: Indiana Court Ignores "Protection Of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act"

From the article:

This week, the Indiana Court of Appeals ruled that the city of Gary, Indiana could continue its frivolous, politically motivated lawsuit blaming gun manufacturers for the actions of local criminals. The case, City of Gary v. Smith & Wesson, is one of several around the country where the wheels of justice are grinding slowly, as gun makers try to get the courts to enforce the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) of 2005, which requires courts to dismiss this type of case.

This case should have been dismissed. Cases like this one, is exactly why we passed the "Protection Of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act"

11/2/07: Orange County, Florida: Suspect's Pistol Worth More Than The Loot

From the article:

A rare handgun used in more than a dozen holdups across Orange County turns out to be worth more than all the money the suspect wielding it took from his victims, according to Orlando police.

Confiscated late Wednesday, the 1940 Colt Woodsman Match Target Bullseye pistol was recognized by Detective Matt Deem as the same weapon seen in a series of surveillance videos of convenience-store robberies since August.

Hopefully, the pistol will not be destroyed!

Also from the article:

Police reports said Gregory Kilgore, 26, was arrested on a charge of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle. The report alleges Kilgore threw the weapon out of the window of his car, possibly after firing several shots in the area.

This raises a serious question. Did the police properly search the area if they believed that Kilgore threw a weapon out of his window?

From the article:

Someone broke into a Cleveland Public Utilities police officer's home on Dove Avenue and took a loaded 9 mm Smith & Wesson gun, a second loaded magazine, his badge and a bulletproof vest.

If some of the gun-grabbers had their way, this officer would be charged criminally since his gun was stolen. They hate guns so much that they would want to further victimize the victim by charging them for having their own property stolen.

10/31/07: Springfield, Ohio: Gunman With Spiky Hair Was Playing Prank

From the article:

Wittenberg University alerted students to a report of a gunman with blond, spiky hair in a residence hall Tuesday night, but what appeared to be a threatening situation turned out to be a birthday prank and the gun fired only soft foam pellets, police said.

Still, the gun violated the university's zero-tolerance policy, and five students were taken into custody. Authorities did not immediately determine if any charges would be filed.

Pranks like this are extremely dangerous. It could have easily have resulted in the death of the prankster, beause the police thought that they were responding to a real incident.

Gun accidents are not a joke. However, I'm sure that his hunting buddies will never let him live this one down.
