10/13/07: Bowling Green, Ohio: Students, Officials Concerned After Attack At Bowling Green
From the article:
A random attack on the campus of Bowling Green State University this week caused school officials to send a campus-wide e-mail stressing safety precautions, NewsChannel5 partner ONN reported.
Officials said the attack happened in the early morning hours when a female student got out of her car that was parked along Merry Street on campus. She started walking back toward the Offenhauer dorm when a man jumped out from behind a dumpster, pulling her hair and punching her in the face, police said. The woman got loose and ran to safety.
Once again the illusion of safety created by the "Gun free Zones" is shattered as another innocent victim became a victim to a violent predator. Thankfully, the victim was able to get away before any serious injuries occurred.

The elderly of often targets of predators. A firearm is a great equalizer for the elderly when they need to defend their life.

From the article:

10/9/07: Columbus, Ohio: Assaults Infuriate South Siders

Fed-up South Side residents say they've complained for weeks to police about an increase in crime in their neighborhood, violence that spilled into a German Village park over the weekend.
The assaults on four people in Schiller Park on Saturday night involved at least some children who live on Siebert Street, said members of the South Side Community Action Network, a Block Watch group.
Don't worry, the police will protect you! Yea, right.
10/7/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Drugs, Guns Put In 3,500-Degree Furnace
From the article:
Destroying the contraband ensures it won't end up back on the streets or in schools, said Sgt. D.J. Smith a member of the patrol's Special Response Team, which conducted its latest burn Thursday at the ArcelorMittal steel plant along the Cuyahoga River.
The troopers watched as 4,000 pounds of marijuana, cocaine and heroin and 59 guns burned up. The contraband was valued at $6 million.
The authorities could have found a better use for those guns instead of destroying them. They could have donated them to low income women who are trying to escape violent situations or other people in similiar situations.
10/7/07: Crandon, Wisconsin: 7 Killed In Wisconsin Shooting Rampage
From the article:
A press conference Sunday confirmed that seven people, including the alleged gunman, were dead in the shooting.
A state patrol officer said the shooter was an employee of the Forest County Sheriff's Department and a part-time officer for the Crandon Police Department.
The Buckeye Firearms Associations offers our condolences and prayers to the victims and families of this terrible incident. We would also like to point out the the shooter was a law enforcement officer. Remember, according to the gun-grabbers, only the police and the military are responsible to carry guns.

10/6/07: Anderson Township, Ohio: Man Charged After Gun Fired At Concert
From the article:
That's when police said he took a pistol out of his glove box and while charging it, he accidentally shot himself in the foot.
Stringfellow was transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries.
He was then released to police and charged with using weapons while intoxicated and improperly handling a firearm.
This incident may have been avoided if the Ohio Senate did not remove "Safe Harbor" from HB347. "Safe Harbor" would have allowed a CHL holder to give his firearm to someone without a CHL to transport it safely home in cases where the CHL holder could no longer safely or legally handle the firearm. For example, if a CHL holder gets in a motor vehicle accident that requires transport to an emergency room or if he ends up drinking alcohol.
10/4/07: Perry Township, Ohio: Clerk Fights Off Robber By Hitting Him With Chair
From the article:
The video shows the robber at first acting calm and cool inside the convenience store.
He then demanded money from the clerk, and the employee opened the cash register.
But the holdup took a more dramatic turn when the robber jumped over the counter.
That's when the clerk whacked the crook with a chair, authorities said.
This is a great example of how having the "warrior spirit" will protect you. I would hate to imagine what might have happened if the clerk did not try to protect herself.
10/3/07: Columbus, Ohio: Man, 73, Thwarts Home Robbery With 'Karate Skills'
From the article:
Garner, 73, had just stepped outside at about 7 a.m. when two young men confronted him. Garner (pictured, right) said one of the men put a gun in his face and demanded to go inside, 10TV's Patrick Bell reported.
"I had a cup of coffee right on the porch like I do every morning and they attacked me," Garner said.
Instead of complying with the men's demands, Garner decided to fight back.
"I didn't let them in the house," Garner said. "What was I supposed to do? Were they supposed to get into my house? No, brother, no."
Garner said he fought back using martial arts, but not before he took some lumps of his own.
Garner is another warrior who refuses to be a victim. However, we must remember that a large percentage of senior citizens may no longer have the physical abilities to fight off criminals who are attacking them. That is why the private ownership of firearms is so important,. It is a great equalizer and the best method of self-defense.
10/3/07: National: JPFO ANNOUNCES "GOODY GUNS" FOR KIDS
From the article:
Aaron Zelman, founder and director of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO), unveiled a new program today to counteract the unceasing lies and dangerous propaganda of the victim disarmament (gun control) lobby -- lies and propaganda mostly aimed at a captive audience of children in the public school system, and spread like a disease by the mass media -- while providing hours of wholesome family fun.
The program, called "Goody Guns" consists of a special cookie cutter in the shape of a semiautomatic pistol. With the supervision and help of the adults in their lives, boys and girls can turn their own kitchens into "Arsenals of Liberty" by making gun-shaped cookies to keep and share, while absorbing firearms safety lessons the public schools would never teach them, and which the mass media don't want to see being taught.
This is actually a great idea and is just in time for the holidays! I already bought mine, did you?
