A Public Statement from Buckeye Firearms Association
Buckeye Firearms Association has been made aware of public statements made to PAC donor(s), member(s) of the media, and legislator(s) by the corporation that previously sponsored this political action committee (PAC). The statements made by Ohioans for Concealed Carry Inc. do not fully address the broadening of focus we have undergone, associated with our name change.
It is correct to say that OFCC Inc. is no longer sponsoring, affiliated, promoting or involved with the PAC now known as Buckeye Firearms Association. However, the fact remains that the formerly-named OFCC PAC has simply relinquished corporate sponsorship and changed its name to Buckeye Firearms Association. This change in relationship and name was completed late last month with the Ohio Secretary of State and is verifiable on the Secretary's website by clicking here. Since its formation in 2002, the PAC's State ID number has always been 1134. Under campaign finance law, when sponsored by a corporation, the letters "CP" preceded our number to reflect the sponsored status. Now that we have relinquished corporate sponsorship, our PAC number is preceded by "OH". Entering OH1134 on the Secretary of State's website today will pull up all filings from this PAC for the past three years. Same number, same PAC, same people, no corporate sponsor.
While it was the intention of Buckeye Firearms Association to support OFCC Inc. with CCW reform in Ohio, the three people who make up that corporation's Board of Directors have chosen to no longer accept our help on CCW issues.
Nevertheless, the Buckeye Firearms Association will continue to build on the successes seen in the 2002 and 2004 elections by actively furthering Pro-Gun and Pro-CCW candidates/ issues in all levels of Ohio government.
