Sean Penn’s downtown lunch marred by car, gun theft
This isn't Ohio CCW news, but it's too good to pass up:
When actor Sean Penn's wife (actress Robin Wright Penn, of The Princess Bride fame) and her kids were the victims of a carjacking in 1996, Penn spoke out about his desire for justice for the bad guys.
Now, we have learned he believes in self-defense with a hand gun as well, in spite of his vocal opposition to the self-defense actions America took in Iraq.

According to the Daily Californian, Penn's car was stolen as he lunched this week at a Downtown Berkeley restaurant.
The car, a black 1987 Buick Grand National, was taken in broad daylight between 1 and 2:45 p.m. while it was parked on the 2300 block of Shattuck Avenue, said Berkeley police Officer Mary Kusmiss.
Penn, 42, told police he had a loaded 9 mm Glock handgun inside his car in addition to an unloaded .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver in the trunk.
It was legal for Penn to have the guns in his car because he has a state concealed weapons permit, Kusmiss said.

OFCC PAC Commentary:
The ironies are almost too rich and numerous to comprehend.
Shall we add Sean Penn to the Rosie O'Donnel list of Hypocrites Against Guns (H.A.G.s). Their motto "ok for me, but not for the little people" would seem to fit peace-activist Penn.
And one wonders what Hollywood buddy Michael Moore would think?
In all seriousness, this incident provides the perfect opportunity to point out that the creation of restaurant "victim zones" provides the unintended consequence of making a rich environment (restaurant parking lots) for firearms theft to occur. The safest place for Mr. Penn's firearm would have been in the constant possession Mr. Penn.
