TAKE ACTION: Tell Your Representative to Oppose Federal Gun Control
The House Judiciary Committee has passed H.R. 1808, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022, and H.R. 2814, the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act.
Either or both of these bills could come before the U.S. House at any time for a vote.
Both of these bills are designed with one and only one goal: to attack law-abiding gun owners and blatantly infringe the Constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.
H.R.1808 would ban the importation, manufacture, sale, transfer, or possession of nearly all commonly owned semi-automatic firearms as well as ban standard magazines with a capacity of over 15 rounds.
H.R. 2814 would repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), a bipartisan law enacted in 2005 to protect the firearms industry. It seeks to blame legitimate businesses for the criminal misuse of their products and encourage politically-motivated lawsuits with the goal of bankrupting the firearms industry.
H.R. 2814 would also allow for the disclosure of gun trace data in civil lawsuits. This information is useless for legitimate civil actions, and would be used merely for political purposes by gun-control advocates.
