Vote for change in the NRA
The National Rifle Association has been in crisis for several years. This is partly due to legal attacks from leftist politicians who seek the NRA's destruction. But it is also due to financial mismanagement from within.
Many members have written off the NRA, but I believe the organization can be, and must be, saved. While there are other Second Amendment organizations worthy of your support, the NRA remains the only organization that has the breadth of influence and political firepower to fight for gun rights in D.C., in the courts, during elections, and in the legislatures of all 50 states.
Right now, there is a concerted effort by a group of NRA board members to reform the organization from within, by purging the cabal that created the problem and enabled Wayne LaPierre and others to hold the NRA hostage. These reformers are determined to clean house and restore the trust and faith of NRA members.
LaPierre has been removed. Misspent money is being paid back. And now you have the opportunity to join this effort and vote in more reformers.
Return your ballots and help take back the NRA
If you're an NRA member, by now, you should have received one of these magazines: America's First Freedom, American Rifleman, American Hunter, or Shooting Illustrated. Your ballot is in the center of the magazine. Pull it out, follow the instructions, and vote.
I recommend you vote for these candidates who have pledged to continue cleaning up the NRA and purge the bad apples from the organization:
- Al Hammond
- Charles Hiltunen
- Todd Ellis
- Jim Wallace
- Jim Porter
- Anthony Colandro
- Cathy Wright
- Mitzy McCorvey
- Phillip Gray

VOTE YES for the Proposed Amendment to the Certificate of Incorporation: In addition to candidates, you can vote for a proposal to amend the NRA Certificate of Incorporation to clarify that it is a non-charitable corporation under New York law. In short, this change is about protecting the NRA from legal attacks coming out of New York and giving the NRA the ability to move to a friendlier location. This item is on a separate sheet of paper, and you need to check YES and enclose it with your ballot to mail.
BEWARE: Some of the candidates appearing on your ballot are part of the "old guard" who worked to keep LaPierre in power for years and who are fighting to prevent overhauling the NRA. Please vote ONLY for the candidates above or for candidates who are fighting to reform the organization on your behalf.
Again, I realize you may be frustrated with this situation. But as a lifetime member and a pro-gun advocate who has spent the last two decades fighting for Second Amendment rights, I know just how effective and important the NRA used to be. And I truly believe that, with your help, it can come back strong.
The key is to PURGE the old guard from the board of directors and ELECT reformers who are dedicated to making the NRA responsive to members once again.
I'm asking you to play your part and VOTE for change in the NRA.
