WATCH: BFA's Gerard Valentino in TV debate on proposed constitutional amendment to restore local gun control
Recently, P.G. Sittenfeld, a Cincinnati City Councilman who is running for the Democratic nomination to U.S. Senate against former Governor Ted Strickland on a platform of gun control, staged a last-ditch effort to gain publicity for his underdog campaign by calling for a constitutional amendment to repeal Ohio's preemption law which prohibits cities from enacting laws that are more strict than state law.
Standing next to him were representatives from various gun control groups, including the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence (OCAGV).
Buckeye Firearms Association's Gerard Valentino was invited to discuss the issue on WVIZ (PBS Columbus), on the panel show "The State of Ohio."
Valentino faced off against OCAGV's Jennifer Thorne.
"The State of Ohio" is a weekly news program spotlighting the latest happenings at the Statehouse, in the Governor’s office, at the Ohio Supreme Court and throughout the Buckeye State, hosted by the award-winning Karen Kasler.
